Matar Mushroom Recipe


Matar mushroom is very simple and spicy side dish which goes with chapati or paratha.This is prepared in a vegan style using by green peas, mushroom, cashew, onion-tomato and some Indian spices.

Most of the people do not like the taste of mushroom however we all know that Matar and mushrooms both are nutritious and flavorful like other vegetables and good for our body. Believe me if you will cook in this way It tastes best.

Today Mydaawat is sharing an easy Matar Mushroom Recipe with step by step pictures.


1 cup sliced mushrooms.
1 cup green peas.
½ cup onion paste.
½ cup tomato puree.
1 tsp ginger garlic paste.
2 sliced green chili.
½ tspcoriander powder.
1 tsp red chili powder.
½ tsp turmeric powder.
½ cumin seeds.
1 bay leaf.
2-3 cloves(laung).
7-8 cashew.
1 tsp garam masala powder.
1½ tbsp oil.
Required salt.

How to Cook Matar Mushroom

1.Rinse the mushroom and keep aside.

2.Heat oil in a non stick pan on medium flame.



3.Once hot add cumin seeds, bay leaf and cloves.


4.When crackled then add onion paste and sliced green chili. Cook till onions get light brown or 2-3 minutes.


5.Add ginger- garlic paste. Mix well and saute for a minute.


6.Now add tomato puree and cook for a minute.


7.Now add cashew nuts. Mix well and cook until oil starts to leave from the sides.


8.Next step is adding turmeric powder, red chili powder and coriander powder. Mix well and saute for a minute.


9.Slice the mushroom and add it with green peas and salt. Mix well and cook for 10 minutes or water will dry out.

10. When cooked then add garam masala powder, Cook for a minut and off the flame.


11..Garnish with coriander, Serve hot and spicy Matar Mushroom with chapatti or paratha.
