Masala soya chunks recipe is a thick-creamy, spiced and healthy curry recipe which is made by using soya chunks, onion-tomato gravy and some Indian spices.

Soya chunks is a defatted soy flour product of extracting soybean oil. It is a great source of the protein-vitamin and also has several health benefits that’s why it is recommended for kids.

It is also known as soya meat or meal maker and good replacement for meat especially for vegetarian.

Ingredients

1 cup Soya Chunks.

1 large sized chopped onion.

1 cup tomato puree(about 3-4 medium sized tomato).

1 tsp ginger-garlic paste.

1 tsp crushed green chili.

1 tsp red chili powder.

2 tsp peanut powder.

1/2 tsp garam masala

1/4 tsp turmeric powder.

1/2 tsp cumin seeds.

½ tsp coriander powder.

A pinch of asafoeitda(hing).

1 tbsp oil or as you required.

Required salt to your taste.

Some coriander leaves.

How to Cook Masala Soya Chunks

1.Firstly boil 2 cups of water in a container, add soya chunks and salt and boil for 2-3 minutes on medium flame.

2.When boiled Turn off the flame and allow to cool.

3.Rinse soya chunks with fresh water about  2-3 times to get rid of the raw smell and squeeze all the water out. Take out in a plate.

4.Heat oil in a pan on medium flame. Add cumin seeds and sliced onion till they are transparent.

5.After that add ginger-garlic paste and crushed green chili, Saute for a minute.

6.Now add tomato puree and cook for 2-3 minutes on medium flame.

7.When oil start to leave then add coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder and peanut powder. Add  1 tsp of water and saute till they begin to change color or few seconds.

8.Add the squeezed soya chunks to the masala and mix it well.

9.Combine all and add half cup of water, Cook for 5-6 minutes on low medium flame.

10.Last add garam masala powder and cook for a minute.

11.Garnish with coriander leaves, serve hot and delicious Masala Soya Chunks with chapatti or rice.
