Rajma Curry Recipe


Rajma Curry is a most popular and much loved spicy curry in the Northern states of India which is basically cooks using  kidney beans, tomato, onion, ginger-garlic paste and some Indian spices.

If you are looking for Sunday’s meal then this is a great choice to select rajma curry beacuse it is a much loved spicy curry in India which is easily goes with rice, roti or paratha



Rajma or kidney beans is rich in protein, Iron, copper, Manganese and high in fiber.

1 cup rajma.
1 tablespoons oil.
1 finely chopped onion.
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste.
1 finely chopped green chilli.
3 large tomatoes.
1 tsp cumin seeds.
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp red chili powder.
1 tsp turmeric powder.
2 tsps rajma masala powder.
Some coriander leaves.
Required salt to your taste.

How to cook Long Beans Curry

1.Firstly soak the rajma In a large bowl with enough water for 8-9 hours.
2.Now rinse the soaked rajma and take in pressure cooker with ½ tsp salt.


3.Add 2 cups of water and cook on medium-high flame for 4-5 whistle.

4.Heat oil in a heavy based pan on medium flame, once the oil is hot add cumin seeds.


5.When crackled add finely chopped onions  and saute for 1-2 minutes till translucent.


6.Add ginger-garlic paste and chopped green chilli, Cook for 1-2 minutes.



7.After that add tomato puree and mix well. Cover it and cook for 5-6 minutes on medium-high flame.


9.Now add coriander powder, turmeric powder and red chilli powder, Cook for a minute.

10.Add the cooked rajma with 1 cup of water,salt and rajma masala powder . Cook for 2-3 minutes on high flame.


11.Garnish with coriander leaves, serve hot and spicy Rajma Curry with rice or chapati or paratha.
