Bhindi Kadhi Recipe


The Bhindi Kadhi Recipe is a simple and quick recipe that you can make for dinner. It cooked with curd and besan(gram flour).The Bhindi is first fried in oil and add with curd-gram flour batter.
Bhindi Kadhi can be had with hot rice or however you would like to have it.
Here i am sharing bhindi kadhi recipe.


2 tbsp oil.
1 cup curd(dahi).
2 tbsp gram flour(besan).
1/2 tsp turmeric powder(haldi).
1 tsp garlic paste.
1 tsp coriander powder.
200 gms whole bhindi.
1/4 tsp red chilli powder.
A pinch of asafoetida(hing).
7-8 curry leaves.
Required Salt.
1/4 tsp cumin seeds(zeera).
2 to 3 dry red chillies(optional).
1 inch piece of cinnamon(dalchini).
coriander leaves(dhaniya patti).
1 tbsp butter(ghee).

How to cook Bhindi Kadhi Recipe

1. Take curd in a large bowl and add 2 cups of water,besan,turmeric powder,coriander powder,red chilli powder and salt and whisk well and make smooth paste..
2. Now add this batter in a pan ,boil and stir continuously on medium flame for 10 -12 minutes till it cooked well.
3. In another pan take 2 tbsp oil and add bhindi , salt and fry on medium flame till the bhindi is cooked and slightly crispy .
4. Take ghee in a pan and heat over medium flame and add cumin seeds, asafoetida,cinnamon stick, and whole red chilies,curry leaves and allow them to crackle saute till the red chilies are roasted well.
5. Now add garlic paste and saute for a minute.
5. Next add the fried Bhindi and stir well .
6. Now add this mixture in boiling kadhi batter and cook for a minute.
6. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve delicious hot Bhindi Kadhi with rice or chapati.


  1. Hi, Was wondering how you would make it in the ckeoor, till now I just knew that some people make it in the ckeoor. I was wonder if the bhindi will get over cooked, but I see you added them later.We always boil the tomatoes, gring them and then remove the skin. And do not add tamarind pulp. Mom does not even add Kokum flowers I like the addition of Kokum flowers. Sugar gives me the sweet and sour feel.
